Henderson State University’s Department of Music will present its third gala in support of the Friends of Music on Sunday, April 13, at 3 p.m. in the Russell Fine Arts building.
The gala will include refreshments and a series of short concerts featuring student solo and chamber performances, as well as performances by the Henderson bands and choirs. Guests are invited to join the Friends of Music, which provides financial assistance to all areas of the music program.
The gala is free and families are welcome. For more information, please contact Laura Storm at firstname.lastname@example.org or 870-230-5413.
Founded in 2011, the Friends of Music provides support for the students of the Department of Music by funding needs such as: instruments; sheet music for choir, band, and applied studios; classroom materials; instrument repair and accessories; and student travel.
The Department of Music enjoys a rich history of preparing students for successful careers as music educators, performers, composers, and scholars. The proud legacy of ensembles such as The Showband of Arkansas, Chamber Chorale, Concert Choir, Wind Ensemble, and Nu Fusion provide creative opportunities for Henderson students while contributing to the cultural vitality of the university and the surrounding community.
